The National Reading Days 2024 launched

The National Reading Days, the greatest book festival for children, are kicking off today. We are participating of course, because reading to children is fun, helps language development and gives children a tremendous bunch of joy!

The children at the Zuidas Children’s Campus were visited by our director Margreet today. She had come to read from the Picture Book of the Year 2024 ‘Help! A surprise!’ The children listened breathlessly to the story of August the fox who, to his horror, was surprised by his friend Suus the squirrel. A heart-warming story about friendship, expectations and surprises.

During the National Reading Days, which continue up to and including 3 February, reading books to children will be the focal point in our daily programme, and dads, mums, grandparents and children from after-school care will come and read to the children and we will organise activities in line with the Picture Book of the Year.
