Preschool Pandora is housed in the Brede school Omnibus, in Amstelveen’s Bankras / Kostverloren district. Our enthusiastic and experienced team makes sure that the children have fun, are provided with an imaginative environment and have plenty of inspiring things to do every day! Our toddlers are free to explore and investigate the environment by themselves.
We provide preschool care with Early Childhood Education (Dutch: VE) at our location. For this purpose, we use the Uk & Puk programme, which has been developed especially for toddlers to give them a good start on learning the Dutch language from an early age. The programme also covers the basic start of arithmetic (such as counting) and social skills (such as playing together and standing up for yourself).
And all this is done in a natural and playful way, by using themes that match the children’s experience. These include themes such as ‘This is me’, ‘Hooray, a baby’ and ‘Cuddles’. We also use Logo3000, which allows children to expand their vocabulary naturally and in a fun way.

What does a day at our preschool look like?
Each preschool location has its own daily routine. Below you can find out what a day at this preschool basically looks like. The educational staff can tell you about the specific day programme.

Your child is welcomed between 8 and 9 a.m. and we will discuss how you all are doing. Parents can stay for a while during the drop-off time to read a book, do a puzzle or play a game with their child. 09.00
After you’ve waved goodbye to your child, we start the day with a table moment. We eat and drink something. During this moment, we talk with the children about what they’ve experienced and about what we’re going to do that day. 10.00
We start in a circle all together. Children can have free play time and activities from the Uk & Puk programme are provided, aimed at your toddler’s development. 11.30
Lunchtime! Together with the educational staff, the children have a hot-meal lunch. We also pay attention to the children’s development during lunchtime, for example, we set the table together. 13.00
At 1pm, you can come and pick up your child and have a handover talk with the educational staff member. He or she will talk you through the morning with your child in the group, what activities he or she did and which children he or she played with. During our talks, we mainly focus on your child’s growth during the day. 
Practical information
Settling-in at preschool
During the settling-in period, we take the time to get to know both you and your child, and let you familiarise with the new situation. Settling in is an individual matter, matching the developmental stage of children and the specific needs and habits of children and parents.

Hello, I am Yentl van Geffen, location manager of KinderRijk Pandora.
At the age of 18 I started off as a BBL (training on the job) trainee at after-school care. I was instantly hooked and have worked in childcare ever since. And currently as location manager.
I believe it is essential that both children and staff are given the opportunity to develop their qualities and are able to show what they have to offer. As location manager, I consider it my job to ensure that everyone can effectively work on his or her development.
