Welcome to Day Care Kindcentrum De Horizon! A place where children aged 0 to 4 can develop naturally through fun and play in an inspiring environment. We anticipate to open our doors in March 2025.
With a wide range of activities aimed at aspects such as motor skills, language development, creativity, music, dance and movement, our enthusiastic educational staff provide a varied programme every day. All this takes place in a loving atmosphere, where the children are free to discover and grow at their own pace.
Our day care will have an adventurous nature garden; a green world full of opportunities for play and discovery. We go outside every day to play hide-and-seek, make a mud pie or jump in the puddles. Getting dirty is allowed!
Our day care is part of Kindcentrum De Horizon, which also includes our preschool, our after-school care and De Horizon primary school. This makes the transition to the next phase – primary school and after-school care – much easier for children. And it benefits their development and self-confidence!

What does a day look like for us?
Babies follow a daily schedule according to their own needs. A fixed daily schedule is used for the children who are a little older, as this gives them structure and a solid basis. Our educational staff will be pleased to tell you more about this.

Between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m., we welcome your child and discuss how you are all doing. Parents can stay for a while during the drop-off time to read a book, do a puzzle or play a game with their child. 09.30
After you have said goodbye to each other, we will start at the table. We sing songs, talk to children about what they are up to and discuss what we are going to do that day. We also have something small to eat and drink. 10.30
There is room for free play and activities aimed at the child’s development. This can be either inside the group or central hall or outside in the garden. 11.30
Lunchtime! We will have lunch together with the children. This is either a cold lunch or a hot lunch. The older children help set and clear the table. 13.00
The younger children take an afternoon nap and the older children take a rest in the group. Have the older children taken a rest? Then they go off to play freely. 15.00
When most children are awake, it is time to eat and drink something. After this, the children can participate in an activity focused on the child’s development or play freely. 16.00
From 4 p.m. you can pick up your child again and it’s time for the handover with the educational staff member and to go through the day. The educational staff member will particularly go into your child’s growth during the day. 
Practical information
Settling in at day care
During the settling-in period, we take the time to get to know your child and you, and to let you get used to the new situation. Settling in an individual process suited to the developmental stage of children and to the specific needs and habits of the children and the parents.
