Collaboration between AmstelveenSport and KinderRijk
Sufficient exercise and exercise through play are vital to children’s healthy development. Movement also contributes to a basis for social-emotional and brain development. We therefore believe that we should contribute to a healthy lifestyle at KinderRijk by providing exercise activities.
To get children in Amstelveen moving and to keep them moving, AmstelveenSport and KinderRijk have entered into a collaboration. This collaboration provides KinderRijk with the opportunity of introducing children to different forms of exercise and to encourage and maintain their enjoyment of movement. In this way, we contribute to a generation of children who will be the moving adults of the future.
AmstelveenSport provides KinderRijk staff with knowledge, contacts and sports facilities. These include an exercise bus that comes to the playgrounds of KinderRijk’s after-school locations, informal sports events at the local sports halls, the provision of Multisport activities during the holiday periods and contributing to KinderRijk’s annual sports event: SportRijk. In turn, KinderRijk offers workplaces for interns from AmstelveenSport. They can perform assignments and activities at the various KinderRijk locations.
This collaboration is set out in a letter of intent signed by AmstelveenSport manager Sven Vismans, community sports coach Sven Kuit and KinderRijk board member Soufyan El Hamdi. The specifics of the collaboration will be developed by KinderRijk’s programme makers and community sports coach Sven Kuit.
