Preschool Boechorststraat is housed at the campus of the Free University (VU), situated on the grounds of the Medical Faculty. The bright and spacious groups are all adjacent to a beautiful green nature garden, where the children play, discover and experiment to their heart’s delight. The children can also plunge into various materials and discover the Picasso in themselves at the workshop. The large central hall provides space to enjoy playing and moving around during music, dance and exercise activities.
We provide regular preschool care and preschool care with Early Childhood Education (Dutch: VE). Children learn and develop naturally with us through play and fun, and we prepare them for primary education. Our two VE preschool groups use the Uk & Puk programme and Logo3000. This is a tool that increases children’s vocabulary.

What does a day at our preschool look like?
Each preschool location has its own daily routine. Below, you can read what the mornings look like. The same schedule is used in the afternoons, which start at 1 pm. Our educational staff will be happy to tell you more.

Between 7:45 and 8:00 a.m., we welcome your child and we will discuss how you all are doing. Parents can stay for a while during the drop-off time to read a book, do a puzzle or play a game with their child. 08.00
After you have said goodbye to each other, we will start at the table. We sing songs, talk to the children about what they are up to and discuss what we are going to do that day. We also have something small to eat and drink. 09.00
There is room for free play and activities aimed at the child’s development. This includes activities such as reading a book together in the group, messing about in the workshop, dancing in the central hall or exploring the nature garden. 12.00
From 12 p.m. you can pick up your child again and it’s time for the handover with the educational staff member and to go through the day. The educational staff member will particularly go into your child’s growth during the day. 
Practical information
Settling in at preschool
During the settling-in period, we take the time to get to know your child and you, and to let you get used to the new situation. Settling in is an individual process suited to the developmental stage of children and to the specific needs and habits of the children and the parents.
Division into groups
We have 2 VE preschool groups for children aged 2 to 4. For group 1, there is availability from Monday to Wednesday in the mornings and on Thursday and Friday in the afternoon. For group 2, there is availability on Monday and Tuesday afternoon and on Thursday and Friday morning. The times in the morning are from 08:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and in the afternoon from 01:00 p.m. to 05:00 p.m.
